Kelly Baggett
The Vertical Jump Bible, rebuilt as an app
For years, coaches and athletes have passed Kelly Baggett's Vertical Jump Bible around as the go-to manual on jumping higher. Vertical Jump Bible 2.0 is the official, licensed app version. It's the same system, but it runs your training for you.
What made the book different
Most jump programs give everyone the same plyometrics. The Vertical Jump Bible starts with a different question: what is limiting your jump? A weak athlete, a strong but "slow" athlete, and an athlete with tight hips all need different training. The book's core ideas:
- Strength first. Below a 1.5× bodyweight squat, getting stronger is usually the fastest way to add inches.
- Find your limiting factor. Compare your standing and running jumps to see whether you're strength-dominant or reactive-dominant, then train the weak link.
- Manage CNS fatigue. Explosive training only works when you're fresh, so volume, frequency, and deloads are planned on purpose.
- Progress on purpose. Programs move from beginner templates through high-frequency and concentrated loading blocks to the year-long 40 Inch Blueprint.
What's in the app
- 4 assessments: leg strength, reactive resource, mobility, and the Super Freak assessment. They tell you exactly which program fits you.
- 24 programs: every program from the book, from the Break-In and Beginner/Novice workouts to bodyweight-only, in-season, high-frequency, and the 40 Inch Blueprint.
- 270 exercises with demo videos, so you know every depth jump, hang clean, and split squat is done right.
- Live workout tracking: sets, reps, loads, rest timers, and a weekly recap of what you did.
- Calculators and progress charts for relative strength, plyo volume, CNS readiness, and your vertical over time.
